Away with GSI's -- Here come the Machines.
Stanford, Harvard, and MIT come together to develop the soon-to-be released edX program. It’s an open-source code that will enable students to submit essays to be computer-graded and returned almost instantly.
I learned about this from one of my graduate student instructors last week, and I’m not so sure I like the idea of a computer evaluating the merit of my writing ability. My trademark academic sarcasm woven throughout the paper might be missed, or worse, penalized!
